Thursday Reading Task:

On a Thursday, your reading task will be to read a chapter from ‘The Explorer’ by Katherine Rundell.

Comprehension Questions:

The Den

Use a dictionary to find the definition of the above words.

On Page 20, how does Fred try to stop Max crying?
On Page 22, Lila and Con disagree. Who do you think is right? Explain you thoughts.
On Pages 25-28, what clues are there that the den has not been visited for a long time?
Explain one way the author has shown us how different the characters are from each other.

Challenge – draw a labelled diagram with descriptions from the book.
